Hệ thống nồi hơi và hơi nước hoạt động như thế nào trên tàu?
Hiểu một cách đơn giản thì nồi hơi là một thùng chứa lớn được sử dụng để đun sôi nước và tạo ra hơi nước. Trên tàu, nồi hơi sử dụng nhiệt do động cơ tạo ra khi chạy. Nguyên tắc cơ bản của nồi hơi và hơi nước trên tàu thủy
Nhiệt chứa trong khí thải truyền dọc theo một bó ống được đặt chìm trong nước đã qua xử lý hóa học. Nước được xử lý hóa học này được duy trì ở một mức độ pH nhất định hoặc theo thuật ngữ thông thường là độ axit và độ kiềm. Nồng độ clo trong nước được duy trì ở mức 0 ppm (phần triệu). Cuối cùng, nước tuần hoàn trên hệ thống nồi hơi được xử lý bằng hóa chất khử oxy để ngăn ngừa ăn mòn bên trong hệ thống.
Nước này khi được đun nóng đến 100 độ C hoặc 212 độ F sẽ chuyển từ trạng thái lỏng sang trạng thái khí, được gọi là hơi nước. Sau đó, hơi nước được đưa đến các vị trí tiêu thụ khác nhau. Hơi nước khi được sử dụng và nguội đi sẽ trở lại trạng thái lỏng và được gọi là nước ngưng tụ. Áp suất trong hệ thống sẽ đẩy lượng nước ngưng tụ này trở lại một bể thu gom gọi là bể chứa nước ngưng tụ. Bể này giữ nước cho chu trình tiếp theo. Việc thu hồi nước ngưng được xem là một giải pháp tiết kiệm năng lượng. Khi mực nước trong thùng nồi hơi xuống thấp, một máy bơm cấp liệu sẽ hút nước và làm đầy thùng nồi hơi để tạo ra hơi nước.
Tàu thường có một nồi hơi chính và phụ. Nồi hơi chính sử dụng khí thải do máy chính của tàu tạo ra. Còn nồi hơi phụ là nồi hơi sử dụng khí thải do động cơ phụ/máy phát điện tạo ra. Hơi nước được sử dụng liên tục trên tàu và vì vậy khi động cơ không hoạt động, một đầu đốt điện sẽ đảm nhận việc duy trì quá trình tạo hơi nước và áp suất trong hệ thống. Ngoài ra, nồi hơi chính được gọi là nồi hơi khói tổng hợp.
Việc sử dụng luồng hơi là gì?
Hơi nước quan trọng trong hoạt động của tàu chủ yếu vì nó cung cấp nhiệt cho quá trình xử lý nhiên liệu. Trong quy trình xử lý nhiên liệu, đặc biệt là nhiên liệu nặng/nhiên liệu hầm lò rất dính và rất nhớt ở nhiệt độ thấp. Điều này khiến việc vận chuyển giữa các bồn chứa và cung cấp nhiên liệu cho người dùng khó khăn hơn. Với hơi nước, các khí nóng được đưa vào các đường ống hơi được lắp đặt bên trong bể để tăng nhiệt độ nhiên liệu. Khi nhiệt độ nhiên liệu tăng, độ nhớt sẽ thấp hơn. Từ đó, giúp máy bơm chuyển nhiên liệu từ thùng này sang thùng khác dễ dàng hơn. Để lọc nhiên liệu, máy lọc cần nhiên liệu ở nhiệt độ 98 độ C (đối với nhiên liệu nặng) và 60 độ đối với nhiên liệu diesel hàng hải .
Một ứng dụng thiết yếu khác của hơi nước trên tàu là vào mùa đông, các thùng biển bị đóng băng. Hơi nước khi được cung cấp cho các thùng này sẽ phá vỡ sự tích tụ băng để cung cấp dòng chảy cho hệ thống làm mát bằng nước biển.
Ngoài ra, ứng dụng hơi nước cũng được sử dụng để đun nóng nước uống được trên tàu.
